Sorry Charlest. In a Polish that goes as long and without an uncontrollable snap

UFO is the best hands down.....if you're looking for length and still have a Smoother backend reaction compared to other non grit polish, UFO is the polish.

Fine.
Just keep in mind that UFO has a slip agent in it, that makes it different from most other polishes. That means the slip agent partially blocks the pores of resin which absorb oil. The oil absorption rate is one of the major factors that allows resin balls to hook so much. So, by partially blocking those pores, it not only makes the ball go longer, it reduces the backend AND reduces the overall amount of hook. Most other polishes increase the backend by allowing the ball to retain energy longer and do NOT reduce the overall amount of hook.

PLUS because UFO uses an organic slip agent instead of silicone, the slip agent only lasts about 25 games and can also be removed with just a light sanding with a 4000 grit pad. All other slip agent polishes require a more abrasive sanding, like 500 or 1000 grit, to remove the silicone.

FYI Snake Oil is Valentino's normal or regular polish. It works as well or better than many other normal polishes, and, if you don't need a slip agent to reduce hook and backend, it is THE polish to use.

Agree with Charlest!  Snake oil is the best and UFO is great in totally scorched lanes.

I wish UFO lasted 25 games for me.....I have to throw it back on the spinner after 12-15 games.

I had a pearl particle and ufo lasted less games vs resin, but then again, pp on medium/dry is asking too much.

I believe that's the upper limit. Of course, if the lane surface is too rough, the shine/polish for any ball will wear off (and UFO's organic slip agent will also wear off) and the shine and the slip agent have to be put back on. That's not the fault of UFO, but the situation with your revs and the lane surface on which you're bowling and the amount of oil the manager allows the maintenance crew to apply.

Personally I have to re-polish my polished balls every 3 - 6 games; so you're ahead on that count.  :D

Don't forget the particles bite into the polish and the slip agent as well as the lane surface. Particle do add "teeth" to the gripping power of any coverstock.

i have had good luck with tracks "delayed reaction" as a slip agent
i have not tried UFO

Charlest, how is snake oil different from, say, powerhouse factory finish

They are pretty close; PH Factory Finish polish is one of the plain" polishes that I like very much. PH is a little more viscous than SO, and it seems ever so sightly more abrasive, but not a day and night difference. SO's abrasives seem to stick around the applicator, so after a few uses, you can just spray water into the pad or cloth and use that to polish the ball. I think SOs abrasive are little sturdier in that they take longer to break down so it's easy to hand polish the ball if yo want/need just a light shine on the ball.

I have brought balls up to 3000Wet/dry.Our houses are cheap, catering to the 60 yr old stroker/tweeners or just ignorant. Our Amf house is at 31 ft of oil and our old wood lanes that haven''t been resurfaced in 14 years goes 38.I'm a slight build guy with 300-350 rpm at 13.00mph at best(state at 42ft  put me up to 14.75).Unless I wish to throw plastic or urethane weakly drilled,I'm lofting the channels without it.If I was unable to hook to ball I could buy it in a box,now I can possibly get a track spare?
