IMO id like to see it end in this post.

id rather the post say something like "dont believe the hype, try it for yourself"
or something like that.

either way I think its great for business. i cant wait to see some video ball reviews with snake oil. I really judge all of the balls thrown by britton because he is that perfect inbetween "tweener" that i never see in other videos. AND he keeps the lanes at all different patterns.

just IMO

Therefore Britton is left with AMF and Visionary... two companies that aren't very good to begin with.

That's why there was never a video of the Secret Sauce even thought one was promised... and I doubt we will see one of Valentino products either.

Best way you are going to see these videos is when Beans finds the a unbiased person to make the videos and you get the honest opinion from a person who has never used both..

IMO that is the only true way your ever going to see how well each polished, how fast, and then on lane reactions... a video by anyone else, INCLUDING MY BOSS, would be somewhat biased... and that's the reason he's not making it himself!

Maybe it's just me, but for you to say that Visionary is not a good company well, that shows your ignorance. You do realize that Visionary (unlike Faball/Hammer) has been able to keep up in today's market without selling out....maybe because they put out more quality products than said team sponsor!

PS...I would figure that someone hired by Beans wouldn't be so near-sighted, seeing as Beans has made such a good product from scratch!

You do realize, that the "test staff" is just that...for people to test the equipment at a cheaper price. They don't have "pro staff" since they aren't PBA registered....but when they were they DID have staffers (which didn't have to pay by the way). You do realize, that the test staff is far better than any other company offers it's customers...hands down!

Tell me what other company will give you 4 of it's top-end equipment (plus a bag, polos, and towel) for $500 shipped to your door.

Seriously, you using the "If they were that good, you wouldn't have to PAY to be on their staff" line is pretty dumb, since you're paying for their EQUIPMENT, not paying to be bound to throwing ONLY their equipment.

It's hard to argue company sales, seeing as there are companies that have been with bowling for an eternity (like Brunswick and Columbia)...and then there are newer companies to the game (like Lane#1 and Visionary). BUT, I suppose that 900 Global MUST be terrible, since it doesn't pull in NEARLY as much $$$ as Storm...at least this is what your skewed theory has established!

Bottom line, is that taking cheap shots at a brand for NO REASON other than the fact that they don't sell their own polish is just plain dumb!

Big Willy Style

PS...didn't Track and Hammer both have their own coverstock prep products before they were bought out? Guess THAT isn't what makes a BOWLING BALL manufacturer good...

AND, if you're planning on supporting a ball company, AT LEAST type the  slogan correctly!

quote:
If they were that good, you wouldn't have to PAY to be on their staff since they'd be able to afford staff members mearly on the profits of their customers.

And I'm not nearsighted.. I'm actually farsighted.
But um, I mean seriously, if the company was THAT AMAZING, they would of made a bigger name for themselves by now. I'm not saying it's a bad company, just not saying it's good either.

In the end, product sales and company profit are two things that makes an ok company and a really good company different... and I'd have to say Visionary is on the low end of that list.

C'mon man...you said it!

Geesh, even someone who prefers the "low-end" quality of Visionary equipment  can read what you've said (by the way, you referred to them as that also....

I agree with BigWilly. It's not the smartest thing you ever said.
Even if you couldn't get their balls to work for you, that is not the way to phrase that idea. If you actually think that, then there are some things you just shouldn't say.

chris-m, You are a "idiot" !!

Making a statement like that "Therefore Britton is left with AMF and Visionary... two companies that aren't very good to begin with."

Beans has tried to get this by, and you as in other subjects put your foot in your arse.

With your smart --- answers, YOU have driven people away from not only the polish, but also Lane 1 balls.

For one, Visionary are one of the better balls made, with EXCELLENT customer servive.

I really don't understand why Beans puts up with your bull.

I was getting ready to try Beans Polish, but after reading your BS, I will not. Great job, chris-m .

I apologize to ValentinoBowling for going off subject on the thread.

Wow, just wow...so Beans comes on here to publicly appologize and contacted both myself and valentino to wish us luck.  Everything seems fine until his attack dog gets unleashed...Chris i have no problem with you or anyone voicing their opinion on these boards, thats what they are here for, BUT there are a few things i need to clear up from what you said because i do not appreciate when someone comes on here and lies to everyone and spouts off on something he THINKS he knows about...

quote:
Any company that has their own polish won't let him make a video with the a different companies polish on the ball.

Dont know where you got this Information from, but it is not true.  I can use the polish with any manufacturer i wish (well prolly except for lane #1 now)

Please get your facts straight before you post

quote:
Therefore Britton is left with AMF and Visionary... two companies that aren't very good to begin with.

This is a matter of opinion so ill let you have that, but i would be willing to bet there are alot of people who will disagree with you on this, including myself!

quote:
That's why there was never a video of the Secret Sauce even thought one was promised... and I doubt we will see one of Valentino products either.

I did feature the sauce in a video for the attitude shift, it was one of the few balls i could match up with with the sauce on it, this one and the resurgence.  I have already spoken to beans about that.  I did say to beans i would do a sauce only video, but was never able to find the time.  Again i spoke with beans about this already.

Again, Please get your facts straight before you post.

quote:
If they were that good, you wouldn't have to PAY to be on their staff since they'd be able to afford staff members mearly on the profits of their customers.

Here you are speaking of visionary.  Just so you know, they do have amatuer staff members that dont have to PAY to be on staff...they offer the test staff as a way for bowlers to get the latest and greatest releases from them at a lower cost in return for reviews, personally i think it is a great idea, and im sure every test staffer out there for visionary will agree with me.

quote:
In the end, product sales and company profit are two things that makes an ok company and a really good company different... and I'd have to say Visionary is on the low end of that list.

what makes an ok company a really good company in this industry is MARKETING, i guarentee if visionary had the marketing budget of a storm, ebonite international or Big B, they would have just as big a market share as anybody...beans knows this as well, im surprised his knowledge hasnt passed down to you a little better on some things...

quote:
I have yet to say it's a bad company, and I'm getting bashed all around, LOL!!!!!!

again you are speaking about visionary, but in an earlier post you say...

quote:
Therefore Britton is left with AMF and Visionary... two companies that aren't very good to begin with.

Hmmm not very good and bad seem like the same thing to me...

AGAIN get your facts straight before you post please.

quote:
And, I hope Britton does make a video.. since I wanna see how this "amazing" polish works. Not to mention the video would be more than he ever did for Beans... lol.

More than i ever did for beans? wow, ill leave that alone...i helped push his stuff as much as i could on here because while i did not match up with it, i have seen it match up well with a few people...its not a bad product, just does not match up with my game like Valeninos stuff does, i feel for tweeners and strokers valentinos stuff is as good as it gets...beans has said it himself, he developed a polish to give a pro shop the ability to easily polish a bowling ball to the highest luster available, and he did that...some people just dont need that high of a luster.  Beans sauce is the best i have ever seen at polishing clear bowling balls and other plastic balls, makes them look better than new!

Anyway, as i said Chris i have no problem with you coming on here and stating your opinion...thats what these boards are for, BUT when you are stating "facts" please make sure you have information to back them and get them straight.

Thanks

Britton

While I end up shaking my head in disbelief/disgust pretty often whenever you post, it still amazes me how dumb you can be when it comes to not knowing when to quit before you just make yourself look bad and discredit yourself.

I'm going to address this one thing because it really bugged me:
quote:
Numero dos.. Marketing money comes from sales son!! So a lack of sales means a lack of marketing. Usually when companies start they put a hefty amount into the marketing part to get a jump start and then use sales to help push that marketing... this obviously isn't working.
Um, marketing money comes from just that -- money.  Whether you generate it from sales or just from initial investment money, you still have to have enough capital on hand to spend money on a marketing program that will actually generate enough return on investment to make it worthwhile.  If you do not have enough start-up money for a big time campaign, you often will end up more in a business category of filling a niche rather than being one of the major powerhouses, and it's hard to change that around.  Visionary isn't a big powerhouse like Brunswick/Ebonite/Storm, so they make wise use of their money -- they know it's too much of an uphill battle to directly compete with the big name guys who have 1) brand recognition (which is worth a whole lot more than you seem to think) and 2) very deep pockets.  Visionary is able to make more profit overall by spending less, even if it means selling fewer total bowling balls than they could with a more aggressive marketing campaign.  That's just basic business.  It's not about how much product you sell if you're spending more than you're bringing in.

Exactly Dan

I'm sure loans are as prominent in the bowling industry as they are in every other business imaginable...

SO SON unless you know how a company operaties and all its financials(which you might, you appear to know everything else that goes on with every company ) you really have no clue where a company gets its money from...

AGAIN please get your facts straight before you post uneducated guesses

PS its a beautiful day in SEPA as well enjoy your tee time

Amen to that...As much as I love Lane 1 balls and their Diamond Cores, people like Chris have driven me away from Lane 1 balls and the XXXL is the only one I still have. I simply don't understand why Beans can't see how much Chris is hurting Lane 1, hurting the Beans sauce and even hurting Beans himself.

Aye Carumba! I didn't realize I'd start this....

I do, however, appreciate you guys backing me on my thoughts, as I wasn't sure if I was in the right or not. I worked in a proshop for 4 years, and NEVER was as close-minded about a bowling equipment company as he is (except for the prices that Elite wanted...I'll admit to that). Makes me wonder how he tests bowling balls un-biased when he's stereotyping companies like Visionary and AMF...which, for the record, the AMF NightHawk (original) was one of the best balls on the market!

quote:
When you test hundreds of bowling balls, you know a good product from an AMAZING product... oh boy, do I ever!! :-p

Now if we could just get Beans to "test" someone else working in his shop, then he'd realize he could have an "AMAZING" employee there instead.

To everyone!!
So I go to bed last night and this is what I have to wake up to!!!

First of all....
Chris Moyer works for me...Yes!!  He does not speak for me!!!  Does he represent my shop well? When he is "IN" the shop he does a great job!  When he is not in the shop or is posting this garbage on this website...No! He doesn't and I would like to ram a 2x4 down his throat sometimes.

Britton,
We have talked and you know where I stand. I did not under any circumstances know Chris was going to wake up on the wrong side of the bed yet AGAIN!!! So I did not sick the dogs on anyone. I know you understand that!

SandraM,
"I've read all the topics and the only one being childish and taking jabs is you, Beans." Then you didn't pick up the friendly jabs in the posts! Again, Like I said.. Competition is good!

As far as Visionary goes... I "DO" sell it out of my shop if someone asks for it. I do not stock it but I do sell it. I think Visionary does have a high quality product but it just isn't too popular in my shop. My apologies to Visionary and the Wunders.

Chris Moyer in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM works or represents Lane#1 in any way whatsoever. NONE!!  Just because it is in his signature does not mean anything!! Please do not hold Lane#1 liable for Chris' stupid posts and chip on my shoulder comments.

One final comment...
I know Chris portrays an image of conceit and arrogance and it pours over onto my image because everyone knows he run my shop for me while I am in Albuquerque. At times I feel I can't stop him from voicing his opinion just because he works for me but when he starts making comments that apear that he is speaking for me it is time I put my foot down. I have talked to Chris in length about the fact he works for Beans Pro Shop and I like to portray a certain image and class for my business and I expect the same from my employees. Chris is the only person I have back home to run my shop. He is a smart and talented kid that just doesn't see things the same as others. That is OK until you post in a sarcastic and negative way all the time. He has created the image he now has and that is not well received by others. It will take a lot for him to change the way people look at him because of his past antics. I hope he eventually sees how bad his actions hurt himself and the people he is associated with. i tolerate his actions because I have to, Not because I want to. It is important for everyone to know that when he reads this he will probably quit on me and my shop will be left closed for 3 weeks until I get home. This is his last chance with me...If he chooses not to quit on me and continues to bring me a bad image he will be let go!!

Again,
I apologize to Britton,Kevin Valentino,Visionary Bowling,Lane#1 and the BR.com community for any negative vibes caused by my employee.

This is the first posting to this topic for me and will be my only posting to this topic.

From reading the posts, there's enough 'childish' comments from just about everyone to go around. We all have our 'likes and dislikes' where products are concerned. That's why they make Fords/Chevys/Toyotas/Dodges/etc. Get/use the product YOU like the best and be done with it.

I've never used Bean's Sauce but I'm sure it's a good product or there wouldn't be a good following as there is. I've used Snake Oil and it is a good product. I can not and would not say one is "better" than the other even if I had used both.

As it's been said a million times in other topics, what conditions I see may/may not be what others see and therefore one person should not 'trash' one product over the other.

Mr. Beans, you have been as fair in most posts as any competitor can or should be. However, I disagree with this last post about firing an employee over postings on a public site. It is known, I think, chris-m does NOT speak for you and is only showing others his "bad side" by his postings. To fire someone due to actions on his own time, on a public site, IMO, is wrong. To be fair, if he was posting naked pictures of your customers, hanging him by the lamp post would be fine but to post HIS opinion on his OWN time, is a bit intrusive, IMO.

There was an article on the news a couple days ago about employers firing people who smoked at HOME, not on the job. Again, intrusive and I see a correlation to that and what you say you feel you must do. I will admit, you are the boss and you can hire and fire as you see it in the best interest of your company.

Point to this is, you have made your position as clear as you can. If others can't understand that, that's thier own problem. How you deal with your employees is your option, I just don't think it's in good taste to post it where others see it when it's YOURS to deal with.

Good Luck in all your endeavors as well as Valentino's endeavors.
