Storm's Reacta- Shine and Xtra-Shine??
« on: August 15, 2011, 02:11:52 AM »
For those who have experience with both, whats the difference? I have used the Reacta-Shine lately and Im out so I went to Storm's website but there is no real technical info as far as what each product finishes at grit-wise.

Is there another site somewhere that will have that info?

Reacta-Shine is 1500-2000 depending on how long applied, extra shine is around 3500.

FYI These are maximum numbers. You don't get this result by applying these polishes over any base grit. The finer the base grit level, the more fine the end result polish will be. Plus both polishes are abrasive. That is, they change the base grit level, little by little, depending on length of time applied and the amount of polish used and the amount of pressure on the spinner.

Just a small bit of info. I have the Storm Factory Surface Pro in my shop and just got the surface scanner from PAI. Polishing a NIB Victory Road solid in the Pro for 2 min. changed the grit to over 5200 which is close to the average of all the shined balls from most companies!

Use "IT" and BOWL UP A STORM!!

That's interesting. I'm curious as to the accuracy of the PAI versus a surface profilometer.

From what I understand, Storm either has ordered or already has the scanner from PAI.

the reacta shine is a cleaner/polish.. i do not care for it... cant really get a good shine on the ball either..
its pretty runny also. the xtra shine has small abrasives in it, it WILL put a good luster on a ball! diamond gloss is very similar. i prefer diamond gloss....
