Another Void Warranty Q.
« on: May 20, 2009, 10:09:58 AM »
Is it true that if a ball is drilled too close to the pin(within 1") and it cracks around the finger holes, warranty does not cover it? Layout is Pin up above bridge, CG out. Pretty standard layout I think. C300 is the brand.

That "1 inch from any drilled holes" rule is pretty standard throughout the industry, and I would suspect it is the same with C300.

That being said, I have had decent luck getting a ball replaced that had stress fractures around the fingers, AS LONG AS IT DIDN'T INVOLVE THE PIN in any way.

If the crack came from the pin, or was caused by the pin/hole location proximity, you may have a tough time.

I have bowled many times with a ball that cracked between the two finger holes, and never bothered me at all. I shot a 300 game with the ebonite turbo X with a cracked block and thought it was even better than it was before it cracked!
