« on: June 01, 2006, 03:13:17 PM »
Where does everyone find the Finer Grits of Wet/Dry Sandpaper?  I have been unsuccesful in my search for Grits: 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, etc.............

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you could try an auto parts store. they use the finer grits for color sanding and wet sanding car bodies to make the finish smoother

DIY markets should have sand paper or pads down to 1.000, sometimes even 1.500 grit. Car part stores and painter specialist shops are good sources for the finer stuff.

I find everything up to 2000 grit at my local Pep Boys in the auto body section.

Pat,..if for personal use, try Abralon pads, much better finished product,..and they last a long time. look in www.toolpeddler.com under abrasives,..I only use the 1000-2000-4000, personal preference,..if I want to go lower I use scotch brites....but for finer finishes, these are the best. And they come in the mail...jim
