The Triple Xtreme is an oiler. Oilers, by definition, do not flip, nor do you want them to. 10:30 is not flip drilling, but an early strong reaction.

If you want length, you don't want an oiler. The oil that causes you to need an oiler provides that automatically.

The XTreme, being a resin, can be polished, but then it's no longer for heavy oil. Then it can be drilled to make a more sudden transition, like placing the pin above the bridge. Not sure how much polish you have to apply this ball to make it "flip".

o.k,maybe not so much flip.thats what I read about a 10:30 strong drill,a flip arc type reaction.I have a hot wire with a 75 degree drill and the cover works great for one of my leagues but it hooks a little too late for this house.instead of breaking late with more angle to the pocket I want a hook-set or a controlled arc but I don't want the ball to hook at my feet.particle is not clean up front for me here and all I get is hook at my feet and week tens.I'm not missing the pocket but carry is better when the ball sets up earlier and the rolls in straighter.

Sixpack,

I think you're a long way from needing a particle ball if your Hot Wire is just barely not enough for this oil pattern.

There are a bunch of stronger resin solids that should do more than enough for you without going to a Triple XTreme, which, in my best guess is 2 - 3 steps stronger than the Hot Wire.

In Storm, there's the Super Charge and the Hot Rod Pro Stock (which is about 1/2 step stronger than the HW due to its core).

In other brands, there's the Nemesis, Retro Resurrection (Rot-Grip), Shock, SHowtime Sanded, Freak-a-Zoid, among others.

In the Miscellaneous forum, there's a current thread entitled, "Looking for well recommended SOLID Reactiv balls". Several of us have made recommendations ranging from medium-heavy/heavy oilers to medium/medium-heavy solids. Take a look in there for a possible solution.

FYI, from my eye, a 75 degree is also called stacked because pin& CG are often one on top of the other. 75 degree drillings are typically your flippiest drill, according to most professionals AND depending on the ball. 10:30 drillings are usually on the order of 45-60 degrees and are arc drillings unless you are using a skid/flip ball like many resin pearls.

I agree it dose look like a stacked drill.thanks for the help and I shall study some more before I decide.I will also consider the 135 degree drill.
