105 x 5 x 40 Layout Question
« on: November 03, 2011, 03:22:07 AM »
I had a driller recomend a 105 x 5 x 40 drill for a Jigsaw Trap (PSA equivalent for this drill would be approx. 5 x 8 x 2 3/4).  This puts the MB on the track side of the thmb (something totally new for me) and pin above and to the right of the ring finger (very common for me).    What will this do?

Thanks.

MK

My specs:

avg to slow speed (approx 14-15 mph),
slightly rev dominate, high track,
axis rotation approx. 45-55 degrees,
axis tilt - approx 15 degrees
PAP 5 1/2> 1/2^

How far left of the thumb is the MB?

If the MB is still near the thumb then it will likely not be much different then being just on the right side of the thumb. When the MB is near the thumb, the psa/mb will actually move towards the thumb hole, or end up being the thumb hole. The ball will likely have some good length and be angular down lane.

With a 105 x 5 x 40 drilling, the ball will have a LOT of length and make a strong move when reaching the friction, and the MB would more than likely be to the left of the thumb hole.  This drilling would help a ball get down lane for people who have a high rev rate and the lanes start hooking early.  I have a Brunswick Ulti-max drilled 85 x 5 x 35 which I use when I need to get deep and wheel it.  The MB locator is in the left part of my thumb hole.  My specs are 16 mph with a 370 - 400 rev rate and a high track.  If you need a ball to get maximum length, then try out this layout.
