The 4X4X2 layout is usually found on Storm/Rotogrip drill sheets and listed as:

• High flaring, strong layout
• Good on multiple patterns
• Strong entry angle

The 4X4X2 layout converts to about a 42° X 4"  34° dual angle layout.

Storm Technical Director Steve Kloempken explains ball layouts using that layout as a example in this video.

No, on a Symmetrical ball you just draw a line from the Pin through the CG, then measure 6 3/4" from the Pin and mark that point on the line and use that as the PSA (MB).

It's shown in the Storm Symmetrical Drilling sheet.

Storm Symmetrical Drilling sheet.

No, it can be applied to any ball.  Storm's handouts for symmetrical balls shows an example of the 4x4x2

It's one of my favorite layouts and offers versatility across symmetrical and asymmetrical core balls.

Does this layout work better for certain type of styles ? Speed Dom, Rev Dom, High Track, Low Track

Or playing a certain area of the lanes on THS?

It's starting to be my favorite layout just in the last two years. Makes things easier and I use surface to tweak things. I just had a hyroad drilled this way yesterday making half my (small) inventory of balls 4x4x2 with or without p-hole.
