Title: 5.5-6 inches from PAP
Post by: 2handedrook12 on June 15, 2015, 05:14:21 PM
I was wondering if it's possible for a ball to not have enough surface for a ball to read early enough with the pin this far away from the PAP (Pin above middle finger). My Wipe Out was handing Medium-Heavy no problem out of the box for my game. 60+ games later, it doesn't want to finish or read strong enough in oil. I-m pretty sure a fresh 2000 pad would fix this, but I wanted to hear opinions first. The ball is cleaned after every set and wiped after every shot.

Even if you're cleaning it every time, if you're really bowling on more oil then the ball's surface will deteriorate and need to be refreshed. If you haven't done it yet, it would probably be good

I believe they say every 20 games or so you should refresh the surface

Surface is changed after 3 games of bowling. It will continue to change to a point. Throwing the ball down the lanes is like rolling on a big piece of sand paper. The track area is going to adjust to the surface of the lane. If the lane is smoother then ball surface the ball will get smoother. If the lane is rougher then the ball surface the ball will get rougher.

With the number of games it may be time to have the oil removed either by heat or water. Then adjust the surface back to a desired point. Long pin to paps have lower flare and tend to move more later then earlier.
