PAP: 6 3/8 over by 1/16 up.
Basically why I posted this is that I am looking for any others out there that have had success with shorter pin to PAP angles, shorter pin to PAP distances, and larger VAL angles. Length drills with short VAL angles are my deal. Favorite layout is 60 X 5" X 35, P3 - or 70 X 6" X 45, DT(Dual Thumb). 45 X 4.5 X 45, P2 or 40 X 4.5 X 55 are probably the smallest I've gone on equipment. Wondering if anybody that tracks close to me, 6+" over, has had any success with 40>* X 4>" X 50<* layouts? My biggest issue is that I am bare on all holes, and tracking so high that smaller angles and distances bring CG's to 3 1/2+" from midline and loads and loads of side weight come along with it and I have to put craters in the ball to make it legal. Plus anything below fingers, it's likely I will be clipping middle finger/thumb. Any help out there?

I have a high track, Stroker bowler, anything pin high worked for me, becuase I have low rev's I go with Max Hook as 2nd picture showed. I had a TR2 drilled up and was talked into pin down below ring finger and that was the worst. tracked right over my fingers totally dissapointed especailly becuase I really had high hopes for the TR2. Never did it again I learned my lesson.

@Northface - I don't follow Teen Mom, so I wouldn't have any idea lol. I'm not from Anderson, but I bowl & work in the shop located there. @Pinbasher - I played around with some layouts today and was able to come up with 35 X 3.375" X 70, and I'm itching to put it on something soon. I track severely high, but I have some leverage at the bottom of the swing to say the least..

why dont you go to bowlingchat.com and ask mo pinel for a layout. Explain the issue you have. He should be able to help.

A few years ago, we had a seminar with Mo and I also have a very high track (borderline full roller). I told him when I put my favorite layout from symmetricals onto an asymmetrical, I get a hook/stop reaction and no continuation. His response was "Just put a 80 x 2.25 x 50 and be done with it". Granted this may or may not have something to do with my rev rate.
In the past, I have had great success with pins over my ring finger and cg kicked out various distances with weight holes. When I did a similar layout with a Total NV and a Wild Ride, I got very little flare and hook/stop reaction all day long. When I lowered my track due to a different hand position, I got more continuation. But, with my normal release, the ball simply did nothing.
My suggestion, is to take a ball and put the pin in the 3 inch area from PAP but instead of kicking the cg out and a weight hole, try to put the cg in your grip line. I have found with one ball with this layout that I get an earlier midlane read with a smooth continuous reaction downlane (not sure as to the exact drilling angles).

One thing. Can you post a pic of a ball with markings on the ball as to where your first oil/flare ring is located that used to determine your PAP?

i track high as well. my pap is 5 1/4 right & 3/4" up. prob 8* tilt (currently working on trying to change it). Mo has also suggested to me to use around 3 - 3 1/2" pin-to-pap distances for asymetricals(promotes more side roll). 60-80* drill angle & 20-35* VAL angle. for symetricals, he stated to use 4-5" pin-to-pap.
now as for large VAL angles, i have tried some as well: 70* x 4 1/2" x 65*. these worked great on fresh patterns for me. but i tried to place them into nuggets that would rev up and flare more, so that it would flare away from holes quickly. hope this helps.

When I used to track that high with a similar pap, I was fine with any layout as long as I didn't have the pin below my middle finger. I had three balls with the pin in that position-HAD, mind you. :-/

You have to look at the tilt and rotation, this is very important on asym. Whit that PAP i would guess you have very low tilt. Pin closer to pap wil retain tilt and rotation pin farther from pap will get the ball to roll forward.

My axis at one point got as large as 6 1/4 x 3/4 up. I re-pitched my fingers with more right lateral by 1/8, and lowered my ring finger by 1/8th. My track has been around 5 x 1/4 up ever since and its a lot easier to make adjustments with my hand to get different looks.

i track pretty high. 6 1/8 x 1/4 up. i cant go anything left of the bridge. or anything underneath. the lowest i can go is pin in the ring finger. i think the further right i go with the pin from the ring finger...the more i can get the ball to go right to left.
