Title: Backlash drilling
Post by: notsohotshot on February 13, 2013, 02:10:54 PM
I drilled a bl/slvr Backlash for a friend that wanted a mikd hooking reaction. I drilled it pin up about an inch above the fingers and centered between. I put the pin just barely to the rt of the rf or inline with it. No extra hole and finger and sode wts at 1/2 oz on each. He is complianing that it hooks too much. Shouldn't this drilling have been kinda weak???? Help

That could be a really strong drilling for some people depending on their PAP.  A milder reaction could be obtained by using some surface or shining it up with a slip agent polish like Valentino's UFO.

PAP is 4.75" rt and .75" up. It should have been weak unless the cover is alot stronger than I thought.

That's where I put mine, to be able to compare it to the Red/Purple Backlash. The Blue/Silver was  a WHOLE lot weaker, and I'm rev dominant. On what kind/amount of oil is he using it? Where is he playing? Not sure any of that would help.

Of course then there's perception. How much hook is he used to seeing? What does he regard as too much? And is it too much overall or at the backend?
