Pin Axis Drilling on 0-1" pin?
« on: December 30, 2006, 12:27:01 AM »
I have a TNT blem laying around. It has a 0" pin. I was thinking of having it drilled Pin Axis. I'm medium speed, medium revs. Axis is 5" over 1/2" up.

I was wondering if anybody has success with these drilling. I'm afraid the ball would roll too early and hit flat. Any info appreciated.

John, if done correctly, this ball will not roll early. In fact, it'll give you more length than anything else. After drilling the ball with the pin on your axis, place a weight hole 10" from the center of your grip, leaving 3/4 side weight. You won't have to worry about hitting the weight hole if the pin IS on your axis, becasue the ball won't flare.

This drilling is good for playing outside lines and/or when the backends are dry. When the front starts to hook and you start moving levt, but now there is carrydown and the ball starts leaving 10 pins and/or comes up light, it's time to put it away. Good luck with it. =:^D

DB, you won't have a problem getting it legal/under 1 oz. side even if you start with 3 1/2 top. You'll have to use a 1 1/4" bit and drill it deep, but you will get it legal and the ball will work great. You may need to adjust the hole down to 9", but it should be no problem. =:^D

Top is 2 1/4 oz. 10" seems like a long way. What about 7"-8" range. Why 10".

Thanks for help.
