Here's a description of my style:

I'm a stroker. High Tracker (my first flare ring/oil ring is usually about 1/8"-1/4" away from the middle finger insert and thumb slug). I had my PAP measured at 5 1/2" across... and 7/8"-1" up.

I have average/medium revs and I have a medium speed of about 14.7-15.1 mph (measured at the 45 ft mark), so I guess that would be about 17.7-18.1 mph if measured at the 10 ft mark (or around where the arrows are)

Axis Rotation... around 45-50 degrees.
Axis Tilt... about medium.

OKAY...

Take a look at the following 2 drillings and please tell which will give what kind of reaction?

If I take 2 of the SAME BALL and put around 2500 grit polish on both - and drill the first with the PIN right beside the ring finger and the CG, either 1/2" right of grip center, or actually ON grip center (4" x 5")... and drill the second with the PIN above the ring finger and the CG about 1/2"-1" right of grip center (5" x 4 1/2")...

Which one will give the most backend for my style?

This can be in GENERAL terms too, if you want.

I want to know how to drill my future balls in which to get the most backend possible! The 2500 grit polish will help each ball get length to be clean through the heads... I'm wanting a super strong backend!

I've had different balls drilled in both of the above drill patterns but I can't really tell which drill pattern gives the most backend... the only way I could tell that would be to drill 2 of the "same ball" in both of these drill patterns, and I'm not rich enough to be experimenting like that.

I'm just hoping some you have already done this experimenting to save me some money.

My driller says that the 4" x 5" helps a ball retain it's Axis Rotation longer therefore giving a ball with this drilling more backend... but if you look at all the drill sheets from the Ebonite site, Columbia site, Track site, etc. they all say that this drilling is best for when the backends are strong and dry, and that this drilling has a small, controlled backend -- so who's right???

ive always felt that a 3 3/8 by 3 3/8 drilling has the strongest backend movement of any ball. Right now the ball i have with the biggest backend, and i have a similar style to you, is a green gargoyle drilled 4 by 4.

One of the other reason's for asking this question is because I've had 3 different MASS CHAOS's drilled like the following:

1.) drilled with PIN beside ring finger, CG 1/4" right of grip center, MB left of thumb (in the track)

2.) drilled with PIN beside ring finger, CG stacked below, MB also stacked and 1" right of thumb (in the strong position)

3.) drilled with PIN above ring finger, CG 1/2" right of grip center, MB about 1" right of thumb (in the strong position)

Well, the 1st one was the one that had the most snappiest backend for some reason... but everybody and every drillsheet says that the last 2 drilling's should have been stronger than the 1st drilling... but that wasn't the case with the 1st Mass Chaos (which was drilled similar to 4" x 5 1/4" with the MB in the track).

I can't figure out why this one hooked the most?

I'm wanting to "pin-point" the reason for why this ball went "against the grain" so that when I drill future balls, I'll know how to best get the most backend reaction out of a drilling.
