Title: Coke Bottle Test??
Post by: LeftyGomez on June 26, 2003, 12:00:30 AM
I've seen the Coke Bottle Test mentioned in regards to lateral thumb pitch. Could someone explain to me how the Coke Bottle test works?

There is a chart that is used. When you reach around the coke bottle you are supposed to base your lateral pitch based on where the thumb points in relation to the fingers.

For instance, if it points to the middle of the middle finger, you would consult the chart and see what the lateral pitch should be. If it points between the middle finger and the index finger consult the chart.

Different people's thumbs point to differnt areas of the finger and the chart is set up based on that.

Pretty interesting stuff. According to the chart i should be using under, after experminting with out and 0 the last couple of years i had recently went back to under and have been pretty happy with it.

Thanks

LG-

One more thing I would suggest is to check with the coke bottle once ever 6 months or so. Everones hand changes over time and checking every 6 months will make sure you have a pretty accurate pitch.
