Title: Converting non insert finger to insert
Post by: northshoremb on January 26, 2024, 09:42:28 AM
I have a ball that was drill fingertip but no inserts an want to go to inerts. Is there a way to drill it out without going into the bridge? So if they clamped ball would they be able to start left for  left fingers and right on right finger so don't remove material in the middle bridge? Ball is comfortable but lose revs for me as I'm already low rev player

Should be able to add inserts with no problems

Yes.  Whenever I have a ball drilled up without inserts, the driller tells me if I ever want inserts, to bring it back in.

Most shops with a mill press can do it without plugging. Some prefer to surface plug and then redrill into it and it works nicely as well.
