Track Flare Related to Thumb Pitch
« on: January 17, 2005, 04:19:24 AM »
I am basically wondering if you can alter your track flare (low, medium, or high) by changing thumb pitches.  Like using more forward, reverse, under palm, or away.   I track low, 2-2.5" off of my thumb and fingers.  My current thumb pitch is 0 forward/reverse and 0 left/right.  Any feedback would be great, Thankyou.

Track900 -- Only to the extent that the flare in affected by a possible change in rev rate or PAP location as a result of the pitch change.  --  JohnP

Usually pitch changes will not change total track flare but pitch change of the thumb, (ie more right for a righty will lower track even more! (per Bill taylor drilling book)

Track900 -- That is correct. Pitches are specified with the thumb hole down and the finger holes up, so for a rightie right thumb pitch is toward the palm, left is away from the palm.  For a leftie it would be reversed.  --  JohnP
