Title: Does a P3 Hole = hook-stop motion?
Post by: earlyrolling on May 28, 2016, 01:31:58 AM
Hi All:

I was just wondering if a P3 hole causes a ball to have a hook-stop motion?
Was thinking of getting a P3 hole in a new Radical Asymm but I don't want a hook-stop motion.
Thanks.

The P3 hole will just increase the dynamics of the core, creating larger RG and intermediate differentials. The problem is is this what you need (want). It should not create/cause a hook and stop reaction. That is more likely caused by the wrong combination of ball speed/tilt/rotation and surface and where and when you're hitting the dry.

As mentioned if the ball is having too long of a roll phase it most likely will be too much surface for the condition, or trying to cover more boards then your style and the lane conditions will allow for. You want the ball to stop hooking and roll into the pocket.

It also depends on what ball you u use it on,yes it make it start up earlier and flare more but using it on the wrong ball can also smooth out the backend  if it's not used properly , I have  one on a Radical Ridiculous Assy and it works just fine, very strong and continuous
