Ridiculously simple PAP answers I've forgotten.... :(

Apologies in advance for these ridiculously simple PAP questions. I should first admit that it's probably getting time for me to start writing everything down.

First question. Is PAP measured off your hand or off the first few feet on the lane? Obviously on You Tube videos demonstrate using the first oil line to measure PAP,  but I have also been told to measure it off your hand. Now that I am using slow motion software, I can see that those two measurements can be different. Which is correct?

Second, is it possible for your PAP to change between two balls? I've been told no but I have personally tested it and believe the answer is yes.

And last but not least, on a related note, I have heard that your PAP cannot be changed. Can you change it by working on your game? IS there any reason you would want to?

First, it can be measured off your hand or the first few feet of the lane. Be consistent in which ever route you choose to go. It can very slightly from one ball to the next based on coverstock and core aggressiveness which is why they recommend using a plastic ball. Think of it as an experiment where you want to minimize the possibility of variables as best as possible.

Second question is yes depending on the ball for the above listed reasons.

Third about can your pap be changed...yes. Mine changed from 5.5" x 0" to 5" by 0" after a slight change in my hand position starting my swing to change the weight of the ball on my hand. Also had an increase in revs and change in axis tilt.
