Different Releases and PAP
« on: May 07, 2007, 09:54:52 AM »
Just a question as I am not a driller

If you throw the ball using different releases shouldn't that affect the PAP of the ball.  I am asking this because I came up during the Urethane era where PAP and VAL didn't matter as much.  I learned to throw different releases to change reaction.  Here is my Question If I have a ball drilled for my 'up the back, end over end, release' that has a x-hole on my PAP and change to a spinner type release that makes my track 'smaller' wouldn't that then become a flare increasing hole and negate the reaction I am looking for?

It's not as easy as you might think to change your pap. Most bowlers only end up changing their rotation of axis when they change their release, not their pap.

I am talking 2 totally different releases one is hand under the ball the other is hand on top.  The flare marks and laydown are completely different.
