duel angle layout
« on: May 20, 2010, 04:17:38 PM »
I understand the basics of how to layout a ball using the duel angles. However I do have one question. How do u shift the layout to get the same angles and go pin down. Is this even possible. I have done some reading and am not sure if it is even possible. Any help would be great. My pap is 4 1/4 over and 7/8 up. It seems I get a lot of set ups with the pin way over the fingers.

You can't, the angles determine the pin location and pin up vs pin down becomes irrelevant when you learn the about the system, it will change how you perceive the location of the pin and the effect on the ball reaction.

if you want the pin to be lower then the second angle needs to be larger.

It's "dual", like in "more than one" or "two", not "duel" like in "engagement in combat between two individuals with matched weapons."

I'm only pointing this out because I'd want someone to point it out to me if I made a similar mistake.  Nothing personal, just trying to help.

My PAP is 5 3/4 right and 3/4 up.  If I want pin down, I have to go at least 60* on my VAL.

Do we really know that the angles aren't dueling each other as well?
