Exactacator instructions
« on: July 15, 2023, 01:32:23 AM »
Does anyone have instructions for the Exactacator thumb mold system?  Do you cast your thumb hole, create the slug, and then install the slug at 0 / 0 pitch?  Are the pitches built into the mold?  It would seem this is the case, but then how would the exactacator work with thumb holes that have extreme pitch?  To me, it looks like the system wouldn't be able to accommodate large pitches.

But doesn't the mold have pitch built into it?  There must be a step that I'm not understanding.

No, as long as you center the mold in the cylinder when you create the slug. If you have a lot of excess silicone at the base of the mold you will need to trim it to be able to center the mold in the cylinder.

Thanks for the info and instructions.  I guess centering the thumb mold into the cylinder is key.  When mine was done there was about a 1/4 inch or more of mold above the hole, so when you put it in the cylinder to create the slug, the mold of my thumb has the pitch.  I guess you are supposed to shift the mold so that the thumb is centered in the cylinder. I don't think that was done.
