VERY well said, Deadbait!  I was in a similar predicament as heavyarty.  My thumb pitch was changed from 3/8 forward to 1/4 reverse with 1/8 right and I no longer hang up in the ball.  I will say I've always squeezed my thumb a bit but this new thumb has me relaxing more.  It's taken some time to get used to however I am rolling the ball much better with each week.

LOL.  He already thinks he's squeezing it too much and you guys want to put him in reverse?

heavyarty...double check your span.  If they are correct, I suggest opening up the oval (knuckle) part of your thumb, then adjusting the amount of tape in the front of the thumb hole.

Well not quite opening up the back, it's more opening up the side.  Creating more room for the knuckle, while keeping the back-to-front as tight as you like, with tape in the front.

Flicking your thumb back, or basically trying to maintain a "thumbs up" throughout the release, is essential as well.  That is one of the secrets to being able to use forward pitch effectively.  The 3/8 forward is by no means too much, but you have to be able to use it correctly.

ur span might be too long, i know that a few of my stuff is too long for my thumb pitch so that if i snug it up with only my thumb in the ball, i cant even get the ball off my hand with it. i say take some forward out.

Im so glad people are brainwashed to think that TRACK sucks. And its even funnier when im carrying with my TRACK ball and they're going flat ten with their OTHER BRANDS ball.
