Need advice on Layout Nationals and other sport patterns
« on: April 05, 2012, 12:10:57 PM »
I would appreciate suggestions for layouts for a Frantic and a Modern Marvel for the USBC Open and other sport type patterns.

The Frantic has a 3 1/2 inch pin and 2.78 top. The Modern Marvel has a 4 inch pin and 3.21 top.

I have a 5-7 * tilt and a 15-20* rotation. My speed is about 16.5 off the hand and my revs are 175-200 and I am speed dominant.

Thanks.

Thank you both for the information and suggestion.

I tried the same post on bowlingchat.net underMo & Friends, Ball and Layout Advice twice and never got a response, so I gave up and deleted the posts. Other posts to the same group made about the same time as mine all received responses from one of their "trusted sources" or Mo.

It may be because I tried to buy a ball using their Benefit Program and it took over twenty days to get it, so I left a very less than favorable review about Morich Bowling's customer service on Google Checkout.com. I imagine they aren't happy with me.

Mo is frequently absent from bowlingchat for a week or more at a time because of his travel schedule and other obligations.  When he gets back it can take him several days to get caught up answering posts, have you checked for responses to your posts lately?  --  JohnP

In all honesty, none of use here can give you a correct assessment.
You really need to find a pro shop that can determine your PAP and then drill accordingly
Have a price point in mind, there are often lower price balls that will work just fine.

the best way to find out about a good pro-shop (or bad) is by word of mouth.
Most likely, the local leagues will have folks who can recommend a place for you.

I would not buy a ball without doing this.
Lots of people in this game are willing to help if you just ask.
