Title: help !!
Post by: captainhook on September 24, 2003, 12:54:09 AM
I recieved a ball that was suppossed to have a cracked pin?/no big deal to me !! But when I recieved the ball the fingers were cracked out around the fingers between 2 1/2 to 3 " all the way around, and the pin is real tight between the fingers, in order to plug the ball we had to drill out all the broken finger area including the pin leaving approx. a 3" hole around the finger area about 2" deep  my QUESTION is will the ball plug hold, or am I wasting my time, and will this have any effect on the ball reaction having the pin drilled out ANY HELP!!!!

captainhook -- The plug will hold if it is done properly.  Your pro will know how, it may require plugging in two steps.  Drilling out the pin does not affect the ball's reaction.  What we call the pin is a plug material that fills the hole the dowel pin (that holds the ball's core when it was made) made.  But use this as a lesson and only buy balls you can inspect.  --  JohnP
