Layout tools
« on: December 11, 2006, 10:18:53 AM »
What are the best tools for laying out a drill pattern?

I've seen the quarter scale and the turbo 2-n-1.  Are the essentially the same thing, or is one better than the other?

Also, what are the other things listed on the Jayhawk page?  Are they needed, just helpful, or not even necessary?

What about something like this: http://www.nationalbowlingstore.com/spanruler.asp

Is the armidillo strictly for finding the PAP, or does it have other uses?

I have the Turbo Pro Sect and it works very well. The "dillo" is pretty much pap specific.

I have all 3 tools mentioned.

I use the regular 1/4 Scale for basic layout and weighing procedures, the Pro Sect for detailed and technical layouts. The Armadillo is basically a PAP finder although it can also be used to find degree of axis tilt and rotation if I recall.
