IF system for arthritis?
« on: January 02, 2019, 03:17:35 PM »
I've developed a significant bump on the first knuckle of my middle finger due to arthritis. The pain comes and goes. While it is quite painful some days and very sensitive to touching the top of my insert, other days it is completely normal. On days when the pain exist, I can solve the problem by wrapping the finger, but this raises my insert size by at least three sizes.

Has anyone else utilized the interchangeable finger system to combat this problem? I know that they only go up to 13/16, which is just barely sufficient when my finger is wrapped. I firmly believe that I have a better feel and more consistent score without the finger being wrapped, which is why I do not, at least for now, want to consider wrapping the finger every single day.

Wondering if anyone else has used the IF system for this reason?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried a Vacu grip drill for your fingers.  You will find it more forgiving on the fingers and you won't need to change grips.

Funny you should mention that. I thought I had and found in Google an old post of mine from 2007 where I had tried them, unsuccessfully. However, there's no guarantee they were done right and that was then, this is now. Perhaps I'll try them again.....
