Sarge Easter...
« on: October 13, 2005, 03:15:11 AM »
Was just wondering exactly how to line this one up.  I have been reading some nice reviews about it and figured I would give it a shot on one of my older balls.  The questions I have are 1) Where to locate the ring finger, 2) What size to make the ring finger, and 3) Do I need to alter the layout, or can I take a layout straight from a drill sheet?  I know these questions may seem redundant to some, but any and all info will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance,
Tyler

My span is roughly 4 1/4" to both fingers, if that helps any.  If more info is needed, just lmk.

you are correct.

the sarge easter grip just drops the ring finger back down to a conventional grip.

as far as altering any layouts...obviously, any finger-tip pin under ring layouts will have to be redone, since the ring finger will now sit lower.

as far as locating the ring finger is concerned...well your ball driller or whoever lays out your equipment will have to measure your ring finger span for a conventional grip, and measure your finger size for the proper hole size in addition to messing with pitch and what not.

Info there.  Mainly to alleviate ring finger pressure, but some people have more forward roll or other side effects.  Some don't though.
