Title: Layout for short oil

I would like to ask a question. I was thinking about getting the monster slayr and drill it up for short oil pattern. My question is would a hook set layout be good for this pattern? Please give me some feed back on this. Thank's for all your help.

Short pin-pap distance, or really long. Depends if the heads are burnt etc.
My dry lane ball is a hybrid with about 5" pin-pap.
