Best pin & top weight for Rico drilling
« on: October 04, 2014, 11:34:37 AM »
I am keeping an eye out for a 14lb ball to have a Rico drilling put on it for a buddy of mine. What is the best pin and top weight for a Rico drilling? Thanks

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

To add to the video Kidlost gave you, the Rico layout requires a large balance hole in the thumb positive quadrant, so in order for the final static weights to meet USBC's requirements the ball needs to have thumb weight and positive side weight before the balance hole is drilled.  Thus, the cg needs to be to the right of the thumb hole (for a right hander).  --  JohnP

Actually by using lower starting top weight, you do not need a large weight to start...you can start with 7/8" bit X 2.5" deep and adjust the flare by going up in size (1/8" increments) and depth

I stand corrected on the "large" part of the balance hole.  --  JohnP
