I have Black Widow with a 2.5" pin and 2.5oz top. My pap is 5.5" x 1/2" up with about 320 to 350 rev rate.
I am looking for energy retention and continuation through the pit on THS (39' pattern) after breakdown. Looking at the drill sheet it says 5.5" pin to pap and 45 degree mass bias but that is for pin lengths of 3-5. But laying it out that way puts the MB close to the VAL.
Any suggestions?

I have one with that exact layout and I love it! You can still do the layout with the pin above fingers, you will just have to take the fingers deep to get the finger weight legal.Another possibility would be to do the same layout(5.5x45 degrees} with the pin under fingers. This should put the cg nearer to the midline, allowing the finger weight to be legal without taking them deep.Depending on your balls hmb alignment, you may not even need a weight hole;mine did not.

You could put the pin below your bridge which should still be 5-1/2". Putting the MB close to the VAL seems Ok with this ball, it still retains energy. Also with the pin below the bridge you can usually go with a low weight hole. I have thrown one 4-1/2" pin to PAP, 45 deg MB, low weight hole 3" off thumb and it hooks a ton. It has great continuation, even the third game.

Pin above bridge with cg and mass bias lined up at about 5 o'clock and a weight hole to the right of the cg. It's an aggressive drilling. Go to bowlingball.com and there are some links at the top and one of them is drilling patterns, go there and you can find some good ones
