I'm going to be drilling up a few balls in the next week or so and I wanted some feedback for what kind of layouts I should be looking at. Condition is just ths. 415 revs, 16-17off hand, best guess is about 50 deg of rotation. 10deg tilt. All the balls I'm drilling are sym. Iq tour fusion, og Daredevil and hyroad nano. It's my understanding that I should be looking at longer pin to pap distances in order to retain tilt and not roll too early. just wondering if anyone else had any ideas on layouts that would help the ball not roll out early but still maintain good backend reaction.

A couple of layouts that I use for similar specs. to yours are:
65 X 4 X 45 and 70 X 5 X 35, using the 4 inch pin on one that would roll a little more/sooner.

Thanks. I also have an inverted track so I need pin up layouts to make sure I'm not tracking over the thumb hole or fingers. My pap is 4 1/2r 1 1/2 down.

Yep low tilt means higher drilling angles are your friend along with lower val angles (but not super low).

What would you consider a good Val angle? I knew they needed to be low buy I'm not sure how low is too low.

I am pretty layout dumb so hesitate to recommend but basically the smaller the val angle the sharper the angle from the break point. Just spit balling would say shoot for no less than 25 to 30 degrees. For symmetric balls though the pin to pap overwhelms the other angles for the most part in my experience and not worth stressing about too much. For asyms the ratio of drill angle to val angle is mildly important as well and just looking at some of Mo's examples it looks you want at least 1:1 to 3:1 in general (drill angle to val angle). Says your sweet spot of sum of total angles is 90 to 130 or so.
