Thumbhole problems
« on: May 02, 2005, 12:07:57 PM »
I am in need of some help. My ball tends to track over the thumbhole when I throw my normal release.  The funny thing is that when I just put my thumb in first I do not get the track over the thumbhole.  could anyone help me out with why it does this when I insert my fingers then thumb and not when I insert my thumb and then fingers

I don't know. Maybe it's the way your hand feels when you put them in different order into the ball. Never heard of that because I have never tracked over the thumbhole before.

You either have slow fingers and/or you grab it at the bottom with your fingers. This is quite common and I do it myself sometimes.
Concentrate on keeping you hand relaxed at the point of release.
One other thing that may help would be to add some reverse to your fingers this will get them out a bit quicker.
Do you notice that the ball hooks to early when this is happening?
That is another sign that you are grabbing it at the bottom.

Hope this helps.
