DT VPP Layout for Ball Meisters/Guru's????
« on: September 13, 2004, 04:26:58 AM »
Guys,

Getting a DT VPP drilled tonight for broken down heads with carrydown.  PAP is 4 7/8"s over 1/2" up.   It's a 3" pin with 3 ozs. top weight.

Thinking about going with:

........0.....0
.........P....
..............
.............CG
............0
.................X <---if I need to bring it down to 3/8 to 1/2 oz. positive.

What do you think of this lay out for this type of condition...assuming I will need to stay under with more forward roll.  Also will probably shine some from box condition.  Is it a good idea to drill X hole at 6 3/4" pin thru CG to take out weight?  I was thinking smaller deep hole at the point to give it enough pop on backend without being to jerky.

Like to hear your opinions JohnP, charlest, ball gurus, etal.

Thanks,
Scott

Well never heard from anybody but it was short notice.

Anyway had the DT VPP laid out and drilled as I posted turned out no X hole needed.  Ball was 2.56 top weight and a 3" pin.  After drilling 1/4 oz. thumb weight which I don't believe will be a problem and 1/2 oz. positive.

Should be interesting.  I'll post in DT forum the results later this week.

Scott

On edit----It wound up 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 with a 60 deg. drilling pin under middle finger.
