Title: mission drill layout #2 question

was gonna go with the #2 drill layout suggested on the ebonite drill sheet and it says place the MB at a 45 degree angle right of thumb. Does this mean I draw a centerline through the thumb and measure 45 degrees from that? Because if I measure 45 degrees from the centergrip line up top the MB will be way out to my val or even further and the pic on the drill sheet shows the MB inside the VAL line. Please help. Thanks in advance.
