Question for those who drill their own stuff at home

I'm all set with pretty much every thing I need, just don't have a do-do scale.  Anyone out there know of any plans on how to build one?  Those suckers are expensive, even if you find a used one on Ebay!  Thanks.

Not Bowling now was referring to a ball with a 3 ounce starting top weight.

Every inch the cg is moved off dead center adds about one ounce of side weight for the above mentioned top weight ball.

If less starting top weight less shift!

I usually pay the local pro shop guy a few bucks to either use his scale or to have him weigh the ball out for me.  This helps to compensate him (albeit partially) for the drilling business I'm no longer giving him, and it keeps me in his good graces for those times when I need to order supplies from him.

Yes,  less starting top weight more shift to get to 1 ounce of side weight.

Thought correct wrote wrong.   A 1 inch shift of a 2 ounces of top weight ball will result in about 2/3 of an ounce of ending sideweight after drilling an average hand.

Thanks everyone.  I'd have to agree with Buddy.   You can get a general idea of side and finger/thumb weight by how much you move the CG off center, but you still need to weigh it to be sure.
