I just got my balls back from a driller in my hometown after a light sanding/polish and new inserts.
He was not there when I dropped them off or picked them up, but had my spec sheet and what types of grips I was using.
I bowl this morning and it feels like my span is bigger! I rolled about 10 balls before I looked at my ball and noticed the new grips were much thicker and now i can basically see the tops of my finger nails in the holes.
My thumb also feels cocked at an angle in the thumb hole and had a little abrasions under the thumb nail.
The above to paragraphs are signs of too long a span right?
Anybody have this issue before? I assume he changed what brand of inserts he sells.

Up the boards baby!

A change in grip brands shouldn't make that much difference, I'd say he put the wrong size grip in. Take it back, he'll fix it for you. I like the customer to be there when I do this type work, then I can let him feel the grips in the ball before I glue them in. -- JohnP

He/She could have very well placed the lifters in instead of just oval inserts...
The lifters make the span a touch longer, about 1/8" I believe.
