RE DRILLING PROCEDUDURE ! HELP !
« on: March 01, 2010, 02:02:05 AM »
can anybody explain to me the procedure for a redrilling of a bowling ball. i recently got the new mission ball, and i think i got it drilled wrong.i cant keep the ball to the right of the pocket no matter how hard i throw,or how many adjustments i make. got it drilled under the arc format for more of a angular entry.the shopsman recommended i have it drilled this way, becouse i told him i throw the ball very fast and hard, but this ball just doesnt go long enough for me no matter what i do, i need it to go longer, then stronger. thats how i should have got it drilled i think !so i guess my question is, is it possible to get the ball completly re drilled to this way,or am i stuck with the way i selected to have it drilled. im not sure how the procedure of redrilling is done. can anyone explain this to me? i would be greatful for any comments thanks !!

1. Do you have enough oil on the lanes to even use that ball. No matter what drilling you have, if the lanes are toast that will probably be too much ball.

2. Before even of thinking of redrilling, adjust the surface to a higher grit. Surface will make a huge difference, maybe more than re-drilling.

3. I assume you tried different lines, can you get any deeper inside?

Surface (prep / material) is the #1 factor in ball reaction...so if it's not going long enough bring up the grit or better yet, polish the ball.  We have a customer in a polished Invasion and it's much more usuable at the new surface on our house pattern.
