Intense Inferno drilling for light oil (for jr_768)
« on: July 27, 2005, 01:38:31 PM »
I'm helping jr_768 out with this and he wanted me to post it so here
is what he wants.....

He was wondering if you guys could give him some suggestions for drillings
for a II that would have a smooth long and archy roll(light oil). His speed is
14-15 mph he is not sure what his rev rate is but here is a video of him.
I think he is a tweener or between a stroker and a tweener.

He is not sure what he pap is so don't ask !

Thanks

15lb 3" pin and 2.5 TW

I've said it before and I will say it again. The II isn't really a light oil ball. In fact, it is stronger then the OI. The only way I can possibly see him using it as a light oil ball without it burning up is to drill it really weak. Go as far down the lane as possible. Tell him to go to the Bowling FAQ on my site for drilling stuff.

The reason he wants it for light oil is because He has already ordered it and already has a medium to oily covered and he needs a light oil ball.

I wanted mine for medium-light oil (never work on true light oil); so no matter a strong (4" pin) or weak (5.5" pin) pin placement, I had to sand to my Intense to 2000 grit and THEN put Brunswick High Gloss polish on it. I like the 5.5" pin position better. It has a very strong arc to it; not a flip reaction.
