Pin up vs Pin down
« on: October 24, 2010, 11:55:41 AM »
This may sound like a dumb question but what is the difference in ball reaction, or are there more variables in determining the reaction?
The reason I ask is because Im looking at getting a new ball, maybe a Storm Reign. I have too much speed, 17.5 to 18.5, and not enough hand. I dont know my rev rate but it is low. I generaly play up the 5 board standing on 15.
Any help in explaining the layouts would help.

i would have to say im one of the ones that pin down flips waaaay harder than pin up....my c system is drilled pin 1/8" below middle finger and 1/8th left and the cg is angled inline with the ring finger ...the ball goes long and then just rips left ..... my pin up time bomb barely moves...my c system is easily 10+ boards stronger than the timebomb and thats being generous to the time bomb

If you have that much speed I would go with pin down or you just might slide past the break point with pin up.
