Flare over fingers
« on: April 16, 2009, 07:38:40 PM »
Hi,

I bowl with an inverted track, a lot of my balls flare over the fingers, especially when the pin is under the fingers.

Is there a safe zone for the pin with this sort of track and can I drill a balance hole to move the flare off the finger?

Thanks,
Aussie.

The safe zone will place the track's bowtie above the fingers so the flare will be away from the fingers.  Draw a line from the PAP to the ring finger hole and keep the pin to the right (or above, whichever way you want to look at it) of that line, for a rightie.  A balance hole in the thumb positive quadrant will raise the bowtie and may get the track off the finger holes.  This is this is the same position as the balance hole used in the Rico layout.  Be sure to keep the static weights legal.  --  JohnP
