Plugging unused finger hole in 2020
« on: August 23, 2019, 07:09:00 AM »
I am a one hand no thumb bowler plus only use the ring finger for throwing the ball. Im wondering how the rule change in 2020 will affect me. Will plugging the middle finger allow the ball to still be legal. If not, is it possible to plug both finger holes and just have one drilled hole for my ring finger? Thanks for any input!!

As I understand the rule, any hole drilled must be used on every shot.  So you can either plug the MF hole or plug both and redrill with a single hole.  Depending on how much bevel the holes have it may be easier for the driller to plug both.  Also, the final hole will have to be positioned so the static weights are legal - no more than 3.0 oz of imbalance in any direction.  --  JohnP

As a no thumb bowler, you will also need to have a mark placed on the ball signifying where the ball rests in your palm, and that mark must be in your palm on every delivery.
