Difference in layout and surface help
« on: August 12, 2014, 04:31:14 PM »
Hello,

I've had some issues with my equipment. I'm looking to have some thoughts and concerns cleared up for me.

A little about me: 205 house shot league average. Low rev, high speed, down and in, stroker.

I have a Brunswick Mastermind and Mastermind Genius. I had them both drill pin down with the same layout. I was seeing almost identical reaction and break point out of both of them. I received a new mastermind and had it drilled pin down. I can see the difference in the pin up Genius and the pin down Mastermind. I'm not getting very good pin carry when I start to move in.

My question: Should I add more surface to one ball or the other? Should I add a certain polish to one ball or the other? Do I need to have a different layout on either ball?

I've read around on pin up vs pin down and ball surfaces. I'm hoping someone can tell me what I should try or what I may be doing wrong. Let me know if you need anymore information from me or pictures of the lay outs.

Currently the pin up mastermind is dull (1000) and the pin down genius is polished :S

Thanks for reading.
