What happens when the pin is placed beyond the PAP?

Just thinking out loud -- what happens to ball reaction if you have someone, say, with a PAP of 3.5 over and you place the pin beyond 3.5 inches?

If you use a symmetric ball all you're doing is moving the statics around allowing an x-hole to be placed in an unusual location...  I still say, as have other who have done this layout, that it only makes sense to use a ball with a factory marked MB or one with an intermediate differential above .010.  http://www.rollriteproshop.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32&Itemid=33

You're so sure that this "trick" layout is special, but have you done any research to back your own claim up?

I'm done with this discussion here since it's completely off the topic of the original post.

IMHO these "trick" layouts are a dead end for the vast majority of bowlers out there...

A pin beyond the VAL will reverse flare.  This is one method for creating a "leverage" layout for full-rollers when you have a longer pin ball.  Place the pin 3 3/8" BEYOND their PAP... see page 10:  http://www.amf300.com/drillSheets/AMFdrill.pdf
