Where can I get the additive that makes the slug look pearl?  Is it Mica?

As far as I have seen, plugs are all solid.  If you want a pearlized look, then use  a resin compound/hardener ball plug and use the pearl additive that comes with most color kits.

I have added color from my regular resin color kit to my thumb slugs exactacator and Custom thumb resin but never pearl...I assume one just adds the pearl additive given with ones color kit either silver or gold!

Also I have a friend who calls himself mr. ???copy???  I forget...

He also will add texture to this resin if one wants...whether he adds sand or what....I do not know!  I have felt it and it is cool!
