My PAP
« on: December 04, 2008, 09:38:04 AM »
Just curious for those that know about PAP measurements, want to know if mine was measured correctly... The measurement was 4 24/32 over, 1 4/32 up, but I was told that was off (too low), because my rightmost flare is either right to the left of my thumb hole, or once in a while over the left edge of my thumb hole. Is this measurement accurate? Should I get it remeasured?

The 1 1/8" up measurement tells us your track is steeply angled from the thumb hole away from the finger holes.  Those bowlers that have a large horizontal PAP component track close to both the thumb and finger holes.  Your PAP measurement is probably correct.  To be sure, put a piece of white tape at that location and throw the ball.  The tape should appear stationary for the first 10 - 15 feet of travel.  --  JohnP
