Title: Short pin symmetrical
Post by: lefty50 on February 15, 2020, 02:44:07 PM
Clearing out the cobwebs.....

On symmetric, particularly under the new rules, it's strictly and only pin-to-pap. No considerations needed for TW or short pin....
Yes/No?

Well yes.. pin to pap and Val angle.

Doom,

So drill angle doesn't matter ? Thank you

On symmetrical, no. Since we can't put extra holes in anything anymore, no matter where you put the cg, the PSA is in or very near the thumb.

And no, side weight doesn't mean anything.

CG still matters, don't go over the 3oz side weight limit!

Sigh...

In terms of some pointless rule that hasn't made any sense since the 90s and was changed easily since it didn't matter before, yes. Don't go over 3oz

In terms of ball reaction (you know, what ACTUALLY matters), CG doesn't matter.

Just drilled a black quantum with a 2 inch pin-to-pap.  Ball started with a 3-4 pin and 2oz top.

Ball looks strange, but works amazingly well. Very smooth and predictable, but definitely stronger than the urethane I’ve been trying.

First one I’ve ever set up like this. Shot 680 first set with it, and it should just get better from here as I get more and more used to it.

Won’t be the last one I drill like this.
