I'm writing this not knowing what the guy's stats are. But let's just say he was identical to me (PAP 4 over 3/8 up) just so we can have a frame of reference:
Pin was placed on his VAL about 3-4 inches down from the PAP. CG is approximately under the middle finger. Right-hander, low to low-medium revs, a little speed dominant, plays off the corner usually down and in.
I watched him closely to see if he was a full roller, because I'm obviously not accustomed to seeing someone with a pin on the VAL. Best I can tell is that he's just got a really weak release. Doesn't seem to keep his hand under the ball very well. Kind of suitcases the ball.
My question is, why would a driller place a pin on the VAL and below the midline? What are they trying to accomplish with that? This is assuming his stats are like mine, of course. The ball was a Columbia, perhaps an old pearl Beast reactive.
