smooth off finger inserts?
« on: October 02, 2007, 06:17:08 PM »
do you guys smooth off your inserts or try to glue them in and keep pushing the edges down in different places to try to get them in just right? I don't know if its my finger pitches or what but trying to get them in and even with the hole without cutting them off seems hard.

my proshop sands them off with something. not sure what. anybody know what to use?

how do you all like to do it?

thanks

Don't they have to be flush by rule? USBC rule: Ch.7
Sec (1)(c)(3)- "Plugs and grips may not exceed beyond
the surface of the ball."

Since I use Vacu Grips, you don't flush them all the way around.  I trim the high part off with an Xacto knife and then smooth them with an adjustable speed Dremel tool.  Use the slow speed and a cone shaped bit, you can also use this tool to make grips bigger if they are too tight.  A little acetone gets off all the edges, looks good, feels good.

Just because they make it in your size, doesn't mean you should wear it!!!
