It's been a while since I have had my span checked and think it may be too small. I feel like I'm squeezing more than I should and am having a hard time staying under the ball and releasing cleanly.
-
I agree looks short to me.Measure half the distance between your first joint and knuckle .Mark it then look at it on both fingers layed across the ball like you have in the pictures. Your ring finger really looks short to me.
-
If your thumb is in the ball in the picture and you prefer a finger-tip grip, then yes, the span appears to be too short. Without any other consideration like using a wrist brace of course.
-
Is your hand like way stretched or somewhat relaxed? If relaxed, I would say short
-
My hand is relaxed and thumb is all the way inside the ball. I also don't use a wrist brace. I'm hoping that a correct span adjustment will help me not squeeze as much and have the thumb clear the ball more smoothly.
-
If your hand is relaxed on the ball with the thumb all the way in, yes, that is short. Also, when you get your span refitted make sure they check your finger pitches as well. So many bowlers don't realize the effect of incorrect front to back and lateral pitches on their release.
-
IMO, if your hand is relaxed, the line on your finger joint should be about center of hole. I would add about 1/4". Tough to say with just a picture.
-
The last finger joint should be near the back of the hole. 3/8 of an inch approx past the lip of the insert added.
Yours is way past the hole!
Too short!
Sincerely,
