Ball Reviewers!
I already have a standard quarter scale.
Tell me if you will of your satisfaction with a Spyder tool. Supposedly great for drawing X by X drillings?
Yes?

Never heard of that one, I'm interested also to know the difference. If it makes marking out the lines better or not. Any one got a picture ?

I've always use a good quarter scale(prosect) and they work great.Just don't buy a cheap one, they warp to easy.

I've never seen one except for pictures, but it looks to me like it serves about the same function as an Armadillo. The Armadillo will also locate the PAP for an x by x layout. -- JohnP

John P,
Thanks for your answer. Does an armadillo also assist in drawing the necessary angles for an X by X drilling?
Thanks,

Yes, refer to the picture at the link below. The dashed lines on the 'dillo represent distances, in 1" increments, from the PAP. To locate the PAP, for example, of a 5" x 4" layout place the 5" line on the pin and the 4" line on the cg (or mb). The PAP for the layout will be at the indicator on the rim of the 'dillo. It's hidden in the photograph, but you can faintly see it if you put your mouse indicator on the drawing to blow it up. It looks like (and is) a gap in the rim. You can also use the lines to quickly get axis tilt and the PAP location for a drilled ball, if you decide to get one I'll explain how. -- JohnP

John,
Is the Innovative Armadillo price ($65) about the going rate, or can one be had for cheaper somewhere else? I'd possibly like to get one for my own use, but not sure if it's really worth $65 to me.

I think that's about the going price for a new one, I checked one other site that carries them and their price was $70. Watch e-Bay, you might be able to pick up a used one. For me, it's indispensable. I use it to locate the PAP for each customer and the 'dillo is the quickest way to do that. -- JohnP
